Light of Life

Information Night and Volunteer Training

When : Thursday, February 24th, 7:00-8:30PM via Zoom

Learn more about this new opportunity as one of our mission partners, Real Life Giving, has merged with Light of Life. This will provide a continuity of care, allowing them to best serve vulnerable women in the community.

Light of Life is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in Manchester serving women who have experienced sexual abuse and trauma through a comprehensive, Christ-centered, 9-12 month residential program. They have recently opened a nine-bedroom home, The Light House, where women and their children, have a safe, supportive environment to heal and recover.

They are offering a training and information night for those who may be interested in volunteering where they’ll be sharing about the mission and programs of the newly merged organizations as well as highlighting opportunities to serve and the basics of how and why they do what they do! To attend, please register here.

New Name - New Opportunities!

Our mission partner, Real Life Giving, has merged with its community partner, Light of Life to provide a continuity of care that will allow them to best serve vulnerable women in the community. Under the Light of Life umbrella, they will continue their primary areas of focus of outreach, Revive (their drop-in center), community education, and engagement in combination with The Light House, a 10-bed residential program.

You are invited to join with them as they continue to reach women right where they are, provide safe places for healing, share the love of Christ, and help them find restoration, empowerment, and freedom.

COVENANT WORLD RELIEF AND DEVELOPMENT (CWRD)

Sept. 18 - Oct. 2

Covenant World Relief & Development (CWRD) has worked through local partners around the world to reduce human suffering for the most vulnerable people and those displaced by war and conflicts for more than 60 years.  The war in Ukraine has caused the fastest and largest displacement of people in Europe since WWII.  While 5 million Ukrainian refugees have fled to neighboring countries, and 7.7 million have been internally displaced within Ukraine, they will need long-term assistance.

We will again continue to support the “REFUGE RESPONSE TO UKRAINE” this year. You may contribute to this ongoing effort by making a check out to Bethany Covenant Church designated as "2022 Covenant World Relief." and dropping it in the offering plate or mailed it to the church office.  If you give online - please go to the drop-down giving (click on “Give Now” below) and select "2022 Covenant World Relief".

The deadline is October 2nd.

Intervarsity

Bethany supports InterVarsity chapters at SNHU and UNH, and these students are blessed by the ongoing support of our congregation! There are several ways that you can get involved:

Pray for the student organization and its student members

Disciple to them: InterVarsity's 2030 Calling aims to involve local church congregations to help establish Christian groups on campuses that InterVarsity doesn't have the capacity to reach. There are many such campuses in the Manchester area, and they would love to work with volunteers from our church to help disciple to these students.

Feed them: They can always use help with food for their events and care packages for their student members.

Donate: They have financial needs to help their students fund their spring break trip.

You can learn more about InterVarsity New England’s mission to “Advance the Kingdom” on college campuses in this short video. If you’d like to learn more, please connect with Bethany’s liaison, Ruth Lahti, at ruth.lahti@gmail.com.
