Covenant High in Christ

Covenant High In Christ (CHIC) is a memory-burning, faith-challenging, multicultural, week-long national conference experience every three years, that challenges high-school students to respond to God’s call and to choose an epic life with Him.

The next CHIC will be July 12-17, 2009, and you can download information about it from the special Covenant Church website (Flash player required).  If you would like to attend, now is the time to start making preparations. 

CHIC2K3 was held at the campus of the University of Tennessee in Knoxville Tennessee in July of 2003. Fifty Bethany students and eleven adults flew down to this event, joining more than 7000 like-minded high school students from all across America.  

Afterwards we attended a two day retreat in the mountains of Georgia before returning home.  This experience was truly profound for all who attended, and we urge our younger friends to attend the next CHIC, which will be CHIC 2K6!

Here is some CHIC History:

  • 1956 first CHIC called Covenant Hi Congress in Covenant Heights, CO and Mission Meadows, NY

  • 1958 Caravan for Christ, traveling team of young adults to enable youth activities of local churches

  • 1960 CHIC in Covenant Heights, CO and Mission Meadows, NY

  • 1964 CHIC in Lake Junaluska, NC, and Covenant Heights , CO

  • 1968 CHIC at Covenant Heights, CO and Camp-of –the-woods. Speculator, NY

  • 1972 CHIC held at one location at YMCA of the Rockies, CO

  • 1976 CHIC held at YMCA of the Rockies, CO

  • 1980 CHIC held at YMCA of the Rockies, CO

  • 1984 CHIC held on a college campus in Larimie, WY

  • 1988 CHIC held at Colorado State University

  • 1991 CHIC held on 3 yr cycle in Bloomington, IN

  • 1994 CHIC at CSU

  • 1997 CHIC changes name to Covenant High in Christ at CSU

  • 2000 CHIC moves to University of Tennessee in Knoxville

  • 2003 CHIC stays at UT

  • 2006 CHIC coming soon!
