DISASTER FUND CREATED THROUGH COVENANT WORLD RELIEF!
A fund has been established through the Love Mercy Do Justice mission to aid hurricane victims. To make a gift by mail, send your check made out to the The Evangelical Covenant Church and write “Hurricane Relief” on the memo line. Please mail your check to 8303 W. Higgins Rd., Chicago, IL 60631. You may also donate online through the Covenant website (www.covchurch.org).
“AIR MILES FOR A HEAVENLY PURPOSE”
Our Sudanese Church Pastor Monyroor Teng will team up again with Covenant Missionary James Tang to conduct another Peace Talk Conference at the refugee camp “Kakuma” in Ethiopia. The Evangelical Covenant Church endorses these talks, which have met with great success in the past. Pastor Monyroor is in need of funding to travel to Ethiopia in late October. CINDY HOOVER TO VISIT BETHANY!
Cindy Hoover, our former missionary to Mexico, is newly-retired and living in Florida full-time. She will visit Bethany from October 5-10! Please join us on Sunday, October 8, for a light lunch and presentation after the second service to hear Cindy’s update about mission happenings in Oaxaca, Mexico and the Covenant Mission “Seeds of Health!” We look forward to welcoming Cindy!

Bethany Covenant has made a commitment to serve one day each month from May to November. Please check your calendar for the remaining dates listed below and contact Cathy or Joyce (info below) if you are able to volunteer at this Mission in Boston:
Wednesday, October 18 (Crystal Serenity, Zuiderdam) – Need 3-5 more volunteers!
Friday, November 3 (Dawn, Mariner) – Two more volunteers would be very helpful!
All volunteers receive training and assistance to help seafarers contact home, send wages, and/or buy items they need at the Mission Store. You do not need any particular experience or background! ALL ARE WELCOME! You will be helping where you will be most successful. Carpools can be arranged; one day commitment; arrive by 9:00 and be on your way home by 3:00!
