Worship and Music
Ministry Teams are responsible for helping the people of Bethany Covenant Church implement BCC's mission statement. The Worship and Music Ministry Team is comprised of people who have a passion for worship and desire to serve the congregation by actively supporting worship at Bethany. They work to enable the church to meet its goals of: 1. Worship that glorifies God, and speaks to people of various generations and worship experiences 2. Helping people of all ages develop and use their musical gifts 3. Using music as a vehicle to reach out into the larger
community
4. Using music for fellowship within our congregation The Worship and Music Ministry Team operates at two levels. First, theologically, they discuss worship at Bethany in light of scripture and doctrine, and seek to order our liturgy accordingly. They strive to guard our worship doctrine, avoiding novelty for novelty's sake, while also avoiding tradition for tradition's sake. They discuss and explore all aspects of worship, emphasizing what is effective in leading believers into true worship, and what detracts or distracts from true worship.
Second, practically, they plan and work to facilitate worship by arranging for ushers, preparing for communion, preparing the sanctuary for worship, etc. They discuss all issues relating to worship and music and strive to ensure that the facilities support events effectively while maintaining a commitment to the safety and well being of all attending or involved. Most members are not musicians. They are just people with a strong desire for true worship, and a heart willing to work to achieve that. If you are passionate about worship and believe you may be called to be a part of this team, talk to the Minister of Worship and Music. Together, the two of you can decide if this is right for you.
