Small GroupsWhat is a Small Group?It is a place where we come with a thirst for a deeper relationship with God and learn to follow the call of Jesus together. It is a community that intentionally meets together to read scripture in order to apply it to our lives, to pray for each other, and to encourage each other as we each seek to follow Jesus as his disciples. When Jesus was resurrected from the dead, a new community was called into existence. This new community, the church, is to be characterized by loving authentic relationships. We are not to be isolated individuals who simply come to a Sunday service and then go home. Each of us needs to have relationships in which we can be real with each other, where we can tell it like it is... Relationships in which we share our joys, our sorrows, our struggle with sin, the whole of our lives, and then minister to each other. As a church, Bethany is committed to helping each person become more like Jesus. We believe that one of the most significant ways a disciple develops spiritual maturity is by being active in a small group.
