Alpha Bells
Beginning
children’s bell choir - Younger first time ringers
Rehearsal time - Wednesdays - 5:00 - 5:30
Location - Sanctuary
Alpha Bells celebrate the
musical gifts God has given us. We learn basic ringing technique and music
reading. Through this, students will develop hand-eye coordination,
listening skills, and group cooperation and teamwork. Members don't need
to know anything about bells at first, but should have a desire to learn
and try new things. We will ring 2-3 times a year. It's really fun and all
are welcome!! Give it a try!
Beta Bells
Children’s bell choir -
Younger ringers with at least one year of ringing experience
Rehearsal time - Wednesdays - 7:00 - 7:30
Location - Sanctuary

Beta Bells is the next step
from Alpha Bells. We'll improve on all of the skills developed in Alpha
Bells, and work on harder, more advanced techniques. We also ring harder
music. We ring in worship about four times a year. One year of bell
experience is needed to join, but most important is the desire to get
better and a willingness to concentrate and cooperate. It's a great way to
have fun praising God!! We hope to see you there!!
Bethany Youth Bell Choir
Youth bell
choir -
Grades 6 through High School
Rehearsal time - TBA
Location - TBA
Bethany Youth Bell Choir is
for Junior High & High School aged ringers. We'll work hard at
improving our technique and our musicianship. We'll also begin to explore
music's role in worship, and our role in worship as musicians and
leaders.
While ringing experience isn't required, it is helpful since many of the
ringers will have experience. However, please don't let lack of experience
stop you from joining. We are a team and all work together to lift and
encourage each other. In addition, a little "outside" help is
always available from many sources eager to encourage the art of Handbell
ringing. It's a lot of fun!
Celebration Ringers
Youth bell
choir -
Advanced bell ringers with at least three years of ringing experience
Rehearsal time - TBA
Location - TBA
Celebration Ringers is for
more advanced younger ringers who want to take their ringing skills to a
higher level of artistry. The rehearsals are known to be intense (you'll
sweat even in winter), but you'll leave with a great feeling of
accomplishment.
We'll work on developing musicianship, music reading skills, and teamwork.
We'll also explore issues of musical leadership in worship, and spiritual
aspects of music. In addition, we perform at other churches and community
events throughout the year.
There are two requirements to join. First, you must have at least three
years of ringing experience. Second, you must be willing and able to
commit to the rehearsal and performance schedule, from start to finish. So
anyone can do it (really - if you want to). The only issue is your desire
to succeed and willingness to commit the time and work hard.
If you've got a few years of ringing under your belt - here or at another
church or school, come join as we seek to develop and share the musical
gifts God's given us. It really is a lot of fun. (Hard, but fun!)
Covenant Ringers
Adult Handbell
choir -
High-school aged and up
Rehearsal time - Tuesdays - 6:30 - 7:30
Location - Commons
Covenant Ringers explores all
aspects of handbell ringing. Bells may be rung as a "stand
alone" ensemble, or may be used to support another group's music, or
can support hymn singing by playing the melody, an accompaniment or
"musical enhancements", or be used liturgically in worship, or…
We will learn many types of music as well as a wide variety of ringing
techniques. As an ensemble, we recognize that though we work hard, it's
ultimately all for God's praise. While ringing experience isn't necessary,
it is very helpful since many of the ringers will have experience.
However, please don't let lack of experience stop you from joining. We are
a team and all work together to lift and encourage each other. In
addition, a little "outside" help is always available from many
sources eager to encourage the art of Handbell ringing. It's a lot of fun!
