The Gideons
Thank you for your faithfulness to this global ministry. Your donations totaling more than $500.00 in April 2008 enabled the Manchester Camp of Gideons International to purchase over 100 Bibles! Phil Stimpson and several members of the local Camp recently held a dedication service at the new Country Inn Suites on Rte. 3, Bedford, and placed Bibles in all the guest suites. This year the Gideons celebrate 100 years of placing Bibles in hotel rooms. Worldwide they distributed about 1.8 million last year.
While The Gideons International distributes Scriptures each year in hospitals, prisons, military bases, schools and colleges, this organization is best known for the continuous placement, and maintenance, of Bibles in hotels and motels, sending 100% of donations to the purchase of Bibles. The Gideons contribute their own administrative expenses. It is a mammoth effort, but one that has touched more lives for Christ than we will ever know.
