James: N.T. Wright for Everyone
Every generation in the church worries, rightly, about people who just glide along, seeming to enjoy what they hear in church but without it making any real difference. James faced exactly the same problem in the very first generation. So it’s not surprising that translating belief into action–making sure faith is the real thing–is near the heart of his message.
That kind of faith, he explains, is the faith that matters, the faith that justifies, the faith that saves. We need that kind of faith today. These nine studies on James’s passionate letter will help you live out a faith that makes a difference.
Facilitated by Beth Hubbard & Sarah Joy Webber
Experiencing God by Henry Blackaby
Experiencing God is based on seven Scriptural realities that teach us how to develop a true relationship with the Creator. By understanding how God is working through us even as we try to fathom His ways we grow in ways never imagined.
Facilitated by Caroline Robinson
Meeting Jesus in Narnia
How many times have you read The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, and dreamed of going to that magical land of Narnia yourself? How many times have you longed to walk beside the great Lion, Aslan, with your hands buried in his golden mane?
You know that these stories are much more than fairy tales for children. C. S. Lewis had a great understanding of God and how He relates to His children, and we can learn a great deal about Him by exploring these beloved books. As Aslan told the children, we can meet him in our world, but here he has another name.
Whether you’ve never yet read The Chronicles of Narnia, or have read them over and over, you will find new insights as, together, we meet Jesus in Narnia.
Facilitated by Pinky Rines
“War Room” and Fervent
A study based on the Christian movie WAR ROOM, a compelling drama that explores the power prayer can have on marriages, parenting, careers, friendships, and every other area of life. Through the accompanying study guide you will be invited to dive deeper into the concepts introduced through the movie via Scriptures and group discussions.
Facilitated by Rita Soderberg & Suzanne Kloess
Matthew 6:6 But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.
